COVID 19: During these challenging times, we continue to work with students and families as well as therapeutic programs throughout the United States.
Students currently placed in either wilderness, residential treatment centers, and therapeutic boarding schools are thriving in their environment. They are going to school, attending therapy sessions (both individually and group), hiking, music, and art.
Schools, programs, and therapeutic wilderness camps are clinically sophisticated, accepting new admissions and have put in place protocols in place for minimizing risk and maintaining new and current students/clients safe. Although students are missing their families and families are missing their children, schools and programs are being creative in their approach in connecting students with their families.
Because they offer isolated environments where social distancing is inherent, a wilderness therapy program might be one of the safer places for your child to be during this time.
As leaders in the field and members of IECA (Independent Educational Consultants Association), we are committed to keeping families up to date on the evolving state of out-of home schools and programs across the country. Please don’t hesitate to call us for more information. We are here to answer any questions, assist, and guide you in finding appropriate and safe options.
